They want to extinguish Allah's light with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His Light even if the disbelievers dislike (it).
Surah Tauba 9:32
An American Jewish man speaks and seeks the truth , An article from an American Jew about his journey from Darkness to light on the matter of Palestine and the biased western media.
Steven Freedman says:
"I am an American Jew. I was not brought up in a religious home nor was I affiliated with any Temple or Synagogue. To be frank, I was never all that interested in Israel. What I knew is what I heard on the radio or television or what I read in the newspaper. Ninety-nine percent of the time when I heard about Israel it was when there was some violence between Palestinians and Israelis. So I naturally got the idea that there were two sides to this story. There were the interests of the Palestinians and the interests of the Israelis. All these two groups needed to do was get together and negotiate and find some common ground.
I had no idea about
the apartheid in Israel. I had no idea about the struggle that the
Palestinians in the Gaza and the West Bank had to go through on a daily
basis. I was ignorant about the blockades, the demolitions, and the
separate Israeli and Palestinian highways. I didn’t know about the
struggle for Palestinians to obtain adequate healthcare, employment, any
kind of “Rights” or human respect due to the actions of the Israeli
Government. This was rarely spoken about in the American Media.
One day I happened to tune in to a local public radio show in Chicago where I live. They were interviewing Anna Baltzer, a young Jewish woman who had visited Palestine and stayed with local families. She got very specific about what was going on over there. I was shocked. I read her book, and I began my own investigation on the Internet. After a time I got a much clearer picture of the day-to-day Apartheid in Israel.
I am a 61-year-old college graduate. I’ve lived my whole life in the US. I wouldn’t call myself a news junkie, but I listen to news on a daily basis. And I read news on the Internet. It amazes me how ignorant about Israel I was for so long. It is partly my fault, but it also is the fault of the American Media. The most important action we can take as Americans is to make sure that all our citizens are educated about the truth in Israel. If we could achieve this, I believe that our relationship with Israel would change dramatically."
